Couch Surfing: The Blind Engineer on CXCW 2015

Couch by Couchwest is a response to a similarly-named and slightly more famous music festival. As CXCW puts it on their website: “Let’s face it, we’re all too broke to go to South by Southwest in Austin, and even if we had the money, we couldn’t get out of work anyway.” So they post homegrown videos–no production values, please–of musicians’ performances.

On a lark I did a couple of Blind Engineer songs yesterday in our dining room and sent ’em along…and CXCW posted ’em. Way cool. I won’t embed them here in the hopes you’ll check out the CXCW site. The two songs are “Utah,” which is on Black-Letter Ballads vol. 2, and a song called “Cross the Break,” which should be on a new recording. In “Utah” you can see our cat Spike abandon ship as I start singing, which I won’t take as a criticism. Thanks to Jeffery Fields of Evening River Band, who we played with last night, for the idea. Here’s his track “To Give Up the Ghost”.

I also recorded “Hard Times Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere,” but it took forever to upload for some reason. So here’s that:
